Matt is a licensed Funeral Director, a member of First Baptist Church - Lavaca, and a Master Mason - Lodge #411. He is married to Chandra Gregory Brotherton, formerly of Clarksville. Matt is a life-long resident of the Charleston area, and is one of the owners of Brotherton Brothers' Funeral Homes.

Monte Brotherton
Funeral Director / Embalmer
Monte is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. He began his career in 1984 as an apprentice embalmer at Smith Mortuary, under the direction of the late William R. Rice, and continued his education by graduating from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Services in 1986. Monte is active at Life Church in Charleston, a Master Mason - Lodge #411, one of the owners of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Homes, and a life-long Charleston area resident. He is married to Cheryl Waggoner Brotherton of Charleston. Monte and Cheryl have 6 children and 8 grandchildren.

Rayda Hobbs
Part-Time Office Assistant / Florist
Rayda came to Brotherton's in January 2014 as florist. Since that time, we have been adding to our technology division by bringing our production in-house, producing portraits that have the appearance of an oil-based painting. Rayda worked as a legal assistant for the past 15 years and prior to that was the owner of the Lavaca Flower Shop. She and her husband Kenny live in Lavaca and have 3 grown children and 3 adorable grandchildren (just ask her about them).

Rayda came to Brotherton's in January 2014 as florist. Judy Gregory
Part-time Receptionist and Floral Designer
Judy serves our families as part-time receptionist (mostly in Paris) and as floral designer in Charleston. She does a majority of her work behind the scenes for each service in a caring and professional manner. Judy and her husband Larry live in Clarksville, Arkansas and have 2 grown children and 1 grandson.

Charlie is a caring and qualified member of our team. He is an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He and his wife Diane have 4 children and 14 grandchildren.

Office Assistant
Kari came to Brothertons from the Logan County Health Department in 2023 and has adjusted quickly. She serves in various capacities including, reception, creation of funeral products, bookkeeper and everything in between. We are grateful to have Kari with us at Brothertons.
