Zona Faye Jetton Dooly, entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on July 10, 1946, in Charleston, Arkansas, to the late Dixon Marion Jetton and Ruby Erma (Trotter) Jetton. She was 75 years old. She was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Don Jetton.
Zona's primary joy in life was being a wife and mother, but she also enjoyed managing the produce department at Lavaca's Supermarket for many years. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are her living legacy of a life well lived.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23rd at First Southern Baptist Church in Central City, with Pastor Russ Tyler officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Valley Cemetery, located south of Lavaca, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jerry Dooly; two sons, Jerry "Jay" Dooly and daughter-in-law Alicia and Brad Dooly and daughter-in-law Dianna, all of Lavaca; her siblings, Zolan Jetton and wife Sue of Charleston, Steven Jetton of Fort Smith, and Brenda Alexander of Knoxville, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Bradly and Eli Dooly and Jessica Shay White and husband Jonathan, all of Lavaca, Logan Jay Dooly and wife Amber of Fort Smith, and Chelsea Shipley and husband John of Van Buren; five great-grandchildren, Katy, Conner, and Clara Shipley and August and Ezra Dooly.
Pallbearers will be Logan Dooly, Bradly Dooly, Eli Dooly, John Shipley, Jon White, Michael Jetton, and Darren Jetton.
Honorary pallbearers will be all her nephews.
The family will visit with friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at First Southern Baptist Church in Central City.
