Zillah Mae Thornburg McFerran, who resided in the Grand Prairie Community near Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born February 15, 1940, in Latham, Oklahoma, to the late Lester Green Thornburg and Dora Viola "Ola" Rash Thornburg. She was 80 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 plus years, Tom McFerran; three brothers and two sisters.
Zillah was a bookkeeper for McCormick Works, Inc. in Mulberry, and was a member of Calvary Temple Church in Greenwood.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 5th, at Hampton Cemetery near Branch, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Bill Van Meter.
She is survived by her children, Regina McFerran of Charleston, Nova Branscum of Fanshawe, Oklahoma, Rodney Duncan of Summerfield, Oklahoma, Rick McFerran of Charleston, and Ron McFerran of Charleston; four sisters, Esther Richie of Auburn, California, Maggie Jozens of Loomis, California, Bertha Baker of Fort Smith, and Martha Galbraith of Mustang, Oklahoma; one brother, Paul Thornburg of Ashdown, Arkansas; ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family members.
