Obituary

William "Bill" Hampton Humphrey, Jr., who resided in Central City, Arkansas, passed away Friday, July 29, 2011 in his home. He was born June 2, 1966 in Fort Smith to the late William Hampton Humphrey, Sr. and Rita Elizabeth (Gonia) Humphrey. He was 45 years old.

Bill was a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserves and also served four years in the U.S. Navy. He was a R.N. at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, was a 1984 graduate of Northside High School and attended the Lavaca First Baptist Church.

Bill always had a smile on his face and could make anyone laugh. He was a strong man and a hero to many. He will be missed dearly, especially by his daughter that looked up to him and loved him so much.

Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 3rd at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Burial will be at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, with "Military Honors" under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

Officiating the service will be Pastor Dale Thompson.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer of the home and one daughter, Abrie Madisen Rainwater of the home.

Pallbearers will be members of the 94th Combat Support Hospital.

Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night at the funeral home.
