William Lynn "Bill" Appleton, 57, of Charleston, Arkansas, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in Crawford County, Arkansas. He was born October 18, 1957 in Bossier City, Louisiana to the late Coy C. Appleton and Lyndell Marie (Johnson) Appleton-Rice. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Ed Rice; a son, Joey Wright and a step-brother, J.E. Rice.
Bill was a painter, a brick mason, and was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 2nd at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Larry Horne officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Paris, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by his companion, Eugenia "GiGi" Berry of Hackett; one daughter, Shelly Coody of Ozark; two sisters, Susan Young and husband Bill of Mountainburg and Lisa Nubbie and husband Bob of Clarksville; one brother, James "Buster" Appleton of Clarksville; two step-sisters, Carolyn Douglas and husband Troy of Fort Smith and Sandy Haney of Charleston; one step-brother, Randy Rice and wife Pam of Lavaca and the mother of his children, Beverly Appleton, three grandchildren, Cody Woodrum, Nikki Peek and Austin Peek; and niece, Melissa Nubbie of Clarksville.
Pallbearers will be Tony Atchison, Rick Jones, Arthur Pearson, Larry Pearson, Sundance Pearson, Jacob Pearson, Billy Garner,and Michael Rice.
Honorary pallbearers are Bruce Pearson and Brock Reather.
Family will visit with friends 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
