Wesley Earl "Ed" Philpot, who resided near Magazine, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016, in Booneville, Arkansas. He was born August 11, 1937, in Hector, Arkansas to the late Wesley John Philpot and Emphrus Gean (Freeman) Philpot. He was 79 years old. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Odell Philpot; and two grandson's.
Wesley was a retired heavy construction union carpenter. He worked several years for Peter Kiewit Company, and he was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Greenwood.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10th, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Greenwood. Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery, located south of Paris near the Driggs community, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sara (Holfeltz) Philpot; five daughters, Ronda Jones and husband David of Paris; Kathryn Philpot of Longview, Washington, Sandy Vanverburg and husband Bob of Oakdale, California, Shauna Nielsen and husband Michael of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Janae Van De Kerk and husband Dave of Phoenix, Arizona; one son, Russell Philpot and wife Shaandiin of Las Vegas, Nevada; one sister, Gevonia Smith of Livermore, California; (16) grandchildren and (19) great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mick Perry, Jason Wyers, Matthew Nielsen, Lance Nielsen, Ethan Johanson, Terril Nichols, and Conan Smith.
Family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home in Paris.
