Obituary

Wendell Norman Williams, who resided in Fort Smith, Arkansas, died Sunday, July 26, 2020, at his home. He was born February 6, 1928, in Towanda, Kansas, to the late Alvin Roy Williams and Hazel Angeline (Towne) Williams. He was 92 years old. He was preceded in death also by a son, Dennis Wade Williams; a brother, Wayne Williams; and two sisters, Lois R. Hummel and Violet Louise Wel.

Wendell was a retired pipefitter 1st Class at an oil refinery. He was an U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII, and a member of First Baptist Church in El Dorado, Kansas.

Memorial graveside service, with military honors, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2020, at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith.

He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl D. Brueggeman; a sister, Delores Ann Rowland; two grandchildren, Timothy Jay Williams and Trevor Wade Brooks; and one great-grandchild, Thatcher Joseph G. Williams.
