Obituary

Virginia M. Jeffcoat, who resided in Charleston, died Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. She was born April 6, 1939, in Charleston, to the late Vernon and Cora (Ragsdale) Ramsey. She was 80 years old. She was preceded in death also by a son, Dane Jeffcoat; twin grandsons, Tyler and Trevor; four sisters, Naomi, Ima, Gennell, and Wilma; and five brothers, Jim, Cotton, J.C., Harlon, and Leroy.

Virginia retired after 27 years at Whirlpool, Inc. in Fort Smith, and was a member of Central City Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 12th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Eddie Davis officiating. Burial will be at Oak Valley Cemetery, located south of Lavaca, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by two sons, Rick Jeffcoat and wife Ann of Pea Ridge and Mark Jeffcoat and wife Tammy of Greenwood; a daughter, Vickie Najem and husband James of Lavaca; the father of her children, Sonny Jeffcoat of Ozark; a brother, Herman Ramsey of Fort Smith; (13) grandchildren and (31) great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Michael, Ryan, Brandon, Josh, Travis, Lane, Spencer and Jaydon Jeffcoat.

Family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night at the funeral home.
