Claudia Virginia "Gin" Brewer of Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Greenhurst Nursing Center in Charleston. She was born on May 17, 1924, in the Arbuckle Island Community near Lavaca, Arkansas, to the late Chester Passmore and Ollie Choate Passmore. She was 100 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Homer James Brewer; her daughter, Billie Sue Walker Taylor; two sisters, Katherine Taylor and Jo Nell Rainwater; and two brothers, Gerald Passmore and Bud Passmore.

For several years, Gin worked at Fort Chaffee and was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 7th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Bro. Kyle Horton officiating. Burial will follow at Island Cemetery, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by her step-son, Homer Brewer and wife Joan of Denton, Texas; four grandchildren, David Taylor, Timothy Taylor, Relinda, and Rob Brewer; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Eric Taylor, Drew Taylor, David Taylor, Timothy Taylor, Canton Taylor, and August Taylor.

The family will visit with friends on Friday morning an hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 10:00 a.m.
