Obituary

Velva Dean Hill, who resided in Paris, Arkansas, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 in Paris. She was born September 11, 1935 in Red Oak, Oklahoma to the late George Dewey Wilburn and Lois Carol (Goins) Wilburn. She was 78 years old. She was also preceded in death by one son, Ralph Edwin Hill.

Velva was a retired secretary and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Paris.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 11th, at First Free Will Baptist Church in Paris, with the Rev. Tim Hobbs officiating. Burial will be at Moore Cemetery, located south of Subiaco, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Charles Hill; two daughters, Diana Downs of Salem, Oregon and Dana Cunningham and husband Mike of Subiaco; three sisters, Cora Lee Rapp and Shirley Adams, both of Red Oak, Oklahoma, and Carol Buck of Kansas; two brothers, Ralph Wilburn of Modesta, California and Ronnie Wilburn of California; four grandchildren, Amanda Young, Loren Cunningham, James Cunningham, and B.J. McCarthey; two great-grandchildren, Hayden Young and Mercy Elizabeth Cunningham.

Pallbearers will be Michael Cunningham, James Cunningham, Bill Stinnett, Eddie Stinnett, Dale Gilbreath, and Curtis Baumgartner.

Honorary pallbearer will be Loren Cunningham.

Family will visit with friends 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home.
