Velma Jean (Deramo) Shepheard of Charleston, Arkansas, died Wednesday, July 19, 2023, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on February 5, 1933 in Paris, Arkansas, to the late Frank and Annie Jane (Ming) Deramo. She was 90 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie R. Shepheard; her son, Gary Shepheard; a grandson, William Lance Shepheard; and a sister, Dortha Deramo.

Velma was an excellent seamstress and a homemaker and was of the Assembly of God faith.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 24th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Paris with burial to follow at Baxley Cemetery in Paris, officiated by Pastor Darrell Johnson. Arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

She is survived by one daughter, Darla Jean Shepheard of Van Buren; two brothers, Willie Deramo of Mulberry and Frankie Deramo and wife Alice of Van Buren; and two sisters, Loretta Williams of Charleston and Glenda Wilkins of Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 23rd at the funeral home in Paris.
