Vaston Glendon Sutton, Sr., who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016, at his home. He was born December 21, 1935, in Pocahontas, Arkansas to the late Vaston Marion Sutton and Ruby Opal (McClusky) Sutton. He was 80 years old. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jone (Delay) Sutton; one daughter, Enid Yingling; three sisters, Icel Sutton and infant twin sisters; one brother, John Sutton.

Vaston was a 32 year retired chief conductor at Grand Trunk Western Railroad (GTW) in Owosso, Michigan. He was also a roughing and finishing carpenter, and he loved making gun cabinets and toy boxes. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and he was a member of Life Church in Charleston.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 25th, at Life Church in Charleston, with the Rev. Terry Scott officiating. Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by two daughters, Desi Lynn Sutton of El Reno, Oklahoma and Jovonnia Boomer and husband Thomas of Owosso, Michigan; three sons, Glen Sutton, Jr. and wife Regina of Mustang, Oklahoma, Enic Sutton and wife Kellie of Owosso, Michigan, and Drew Sutton and wife Tina of Yukon, Oklahoma; one sister, Melba Crawford and husband Earl of Pocahontas, Arkansas; one brother, Charles Sutton and wife Shirley of St. Charles, Missouri; (12) grandchildren and (15) great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chase Rainwater, Jake Briggs, Joe Scanelli, Kenneth Hite, David Luckie, and John Yingling.

Family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday night at the funeral home.
