Van Ward Bush, 71, of Branch, passed away Monday, March 24, 2008, in his home.

He was born November 5, 1936, in Fort Smith to the late Ward John Bush and Edna Alice VanCleave Bush. He was a retired truck driver for TSL in Fort Smith, an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Paris.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Betty Joann Bush of the home; three daughters, Julie Cassard of Gray Bull, Wyoming, Vanessa Nielsen of Greenwood, and Marcia Walker of Charleston; three sons, Kenny Shelton of Van Buren, Ward Bush and Mark Bush, both of Branch; 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008, at The Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Burial will be 1:00 p.m. at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Officiating the services will be Rev. Brad Stovall and Rev. James Hice.

Pallbearers will be David and Dillon Walker, Alex and James Pelayo, Chris Mayser, and Joe Thomas.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday night at the funeral home.
