Valerie Ann (Brown) Sharum, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, died Thursday, January 18, 2018, in Charleston. She was born December 11, 1942, in Edgeware, England to the late Ernest Cecil Brown and Christina Norah (Weaver) Brown. She was 75 years old. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Hazel, and brothers Tony, Barry, and Graham.
Valerie volunteered her services when her children entered school in California and worked within the district until she retired in 1994 and moved to Charleston. She was also a homemaker and was a member of Church of England.
Rosary services will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, January 22nd, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Deacon Mark Verkamp officiating.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 23rd, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston. Officiating the service will be Deacon Mark Verkamp.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Daniel; two sons, Graham and his wife, Susie of Fort Smith and Jerald and his wife, Kristen of Maumelle; two sisters, Sandra Radburn and husband Keith of Rushden, Northants, England and Linda Duhauvet of St. Marguerite de Pornichet, France; four grandchildren, Moorea, Sam, Marcus, and Katie; and many friends and other family all over the world.
