Tracey Michelle Fortenberry, who resided near Alma, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016, at her home. She was born May 6, 1964, in Benton Arkansas. She was 51 years old. She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Chism.
Tracey was a retired school counselor at Ozark Elementary School. She had worked previously as a school counselor at Waldron High School and was a teacher at Paris High School. She was a 1982 graduate of Forrest City High School. She received her bachelor's degree from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and she received her master's degree from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville. Tracey attended Fairview Baptist Church in Pleasant View.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 26th, at First Assembly of God Church in Paris, with the Rev. Kenny Maness and Rev. Bill Van Meter officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Paris, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Johnny Fortenberry; one daughter, Samantha Whittenton of Bentonville; three sons, Christopher Fortenberry and Brandon Fortenberry, both of Marked Tree, and Parker Whittenton of Paris; her mother, Peggy Chism of Barling; her aunt, Belva June Schmidt of Barling; four cousins, Dana Throgmorton and Melody Smith, both of Fort Smith, Todd Smith of Pangburn, and Julie Blair of Barling.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Throgmorton, Rick Trusty, Nick Neumeier, Richard Zimmer, Darin Stahler, and Randy Huber.
Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday night at the funeral home.
