Tony Clifton Strickland, Sr., who resided in Bonanza, died Sunday, July 14, 2019, at his son's home in Fort Smith. He was born April 29, 1954 in El Paso, Texas, to the late Homer Clifton Strickland and Stela Alarcon Strickland. He was 65 years old. He was preceded in death also by his wife, Helen Joy Strickland; a brother, Gerald Brown; and a sister, Mary Rodriquez.

Tony was a retired truck driver, and he served in the U.S. Navy.

A family-held memorial service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 19th, at 3713 Hendricks Court in Fort Smith.

He is survived by two sons, Tony Strickland, Jr. and wife Wendy of Fort Smith and Ian Strickland and wife Brittany of Fort Smith; four daughters, Michele Strickland of Little Rock, Jennifer Lee of Bonanza, Christina Frasier and husband Zack of Greenwood and Elaina Lister of Bonanza; his step-parents, Gerald and Pamela Brown of Arizona; two brothers, Robert Vasquez of Idaho and Tommy Brown of Colorado; four sisters, Linda Lipse of Alaska, Sandra Redford of Colorado, Lilia Hogan of Nevada and Patricia Graham of Iowa; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
