Tommie Jean Conklin, 72, of Greenwood, Arkansas died Monday January 14, 2008 in her home. She was born November 15, 1935, in Charleston to the late Thomas Perry Grubb and Josephine Hewitt Grubb. The was retired from Rheem and also served as the President of Rheem Credit Union from 1987 until 2004. After that, she served as Chairman of the Supervisory Committee, a position she held until she stepped down a month ago. She was a Born Again Christian and a member of the First Assembly of God in Huntington. She was preceded in death by one brother, J. W. Grubb. Officiating the funeral service will be the Rev. Bill Richmond and the Rev. Charlie Murphy. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with burial at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brother Funeral Home of Charleston. Pallbearers will be Jared Walker, Justin Martin, Arch Conklin, Scott Parker, David Jewell, Justin Jewell. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Delbert Conklin, two daughters, Patricia Williams of Greenwood and Teri Hicks and husband Phil of Greenwood, one son, Gary Conklin and wife Laura of Booneville; one brother, Harold Dean Grubb and wife Valleta of Charleston, as well as 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
