Tommie Allyne Brophy of Charleston, Arkansas, died Friday, May 10, 2024, at Greenhurst Nursing Center in Charleston. She was born on April 10, 1932, near Branch, Arkansas, to the late Jeptha Evans Taylor and Dess Elizabeth (Stubblefield) Taylor. She was 92 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Michael Brophy; a daughter, Deborah Chambers; and a sister, Vera Jean White.
Tommie was a 1950 graduate of Ozark High School. She was seamstress, a sales clerk for Hunt's Department Store, and member of Cecil Methodist Church.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 16th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Bill VanMeter officiating. Cremation will follow after the service and burial of cremains will be at Lowes Creek Cemetery in Peter Pender.
She is survived by a daughter, Becky Cole Fick and husband Thomas of Gambrills, Maryland; a son, David Cole of Branch; a sister, Carolyn Ford and husband Lane of Cecil; (9) grandchildren; and (14) great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers are Jonathan Chambers, Jonathan Cole, Michael Innes, Ronald Ford, Larry White, and Stephen Ford.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 15th at the funeral home in Charleston.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to National Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 676910 Dallas, Texas 75267-6910 or plant a tree in remembrance of Tommie A. Brophy.
