Mr. Thomas J. Stout, age 81, was born May 16, 1926 in Charleston, Arkansas to Jeff and Sallie McAbee Stout. Mr. Stout went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 24, 2007 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. A lifelong resident of Lavaca, he retired from Glidewell Construction Company in 1988 and served on the Lavaca Volunteer Fire Dept. On December 13, 1952, Thomas married Leona Bell Tice. He was a Deacon and a member of the First Baptist Church in Lavaca.

He is survived by his wife Bell of the home;One daughter Gail Organ of Hackett, Arkansas; One son; Jeffery Stout of Gloucester Point, VA.; One sister LouAnna Shalley of Fort Smith and two brothers; Boyd Stout of Fort Smith and Charles Stout of Guthrie, Oklahoma. Four Grandchildren, Felicia Owen and husband Tim of Lavaca, Jennifer Savage and husband Shawn of Gloucester Point, VA, Thomas Brown and wife Shannon of Morrilton, and Matthew Stout of Van Buren. Great-grandchildren Seth Savage, Dylan Owen and Julia Owen. Siblings Boyd Stout and wife Thelma, LouAnna Shalley and huband Rod of Fort Smith, and Charles Stout and wife Tammy of Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Lavaca. Interment will be at Parks Cemetery in Charleston. The Rev. Grant Ethridge will be officiating the service.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 Tuesday night at Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.
