Tammy Lynn Burkett of Van Buren, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Baptist Health Hospital in Van Buren. She was born on April 25, 1968, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to William Venson Tobey and Linda Alyne (Hunter) Tobey. She was 58 years old.

Tammy was a 1987 graduate of Lavaca High School. She was a homemaker and member of Heritage Church in Van Buren. She loved her family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 1st at Heritage Church in Van Buren, with Pastor Wes Hillard officiating. Burial will follow at Mayberry Cemetery in Central City, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston. The family will visit with friends an hour prior to the funeral service.

She is survived by her husband of almost 35 years, John Burkett; three daughters, Felicia Thomas and husband Montana of Van Buren, Jessica Courtway and husband Allen of Fayetteville, and Haley Burkett of Van Buren; a son, Joshua Burkett and wife Brandy of Van Buren; her father, Venson Tobey and wife Cindy of Mulberry; a sister, Erin Perryman and husband Justin of Van Buren; two brothers, Mike Tobey and wife Anita of Huntsville and Steve Tobey and wife Kim of Charleston; and six grandchildren, Dixie, Ethan, Payton, Eleanor, Jaylen, and Baal.

Pallbearers are Montana Thomas, Joshua Burkett, Allen Courtway, Ethan Caldwell, Mike Tobey, and Steve Tobey.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston.
