Sylvia "Suzie" Suzette Gregory, 73, of Alma, Arkansas, passed away at 2:14 P.M. on Friday, October 2, 2020, in Alma. She was born December 22, 1946, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to the late Paul Eugene Shepard and Eva May (Woodruff) Shepard. She was preceded in death also by her brother, Paul "Butch" Shepard, Jr. Suzie was surrounded by her family at the Alma Health and Rehab Center for the majority of the year due to the COVID-19 circumstances. Only after contracting the virus and becoming very ill, were her daughters, Shannon and Tara, able to be with her during her last hours.
Suzie grew up in Manitou Springs and Cripple Creek, Colorado. She resided in Black Forest, Colorado for many years. She loved trail riding, breeding and raising dogs, and was an accomplished EMT for 18 years. One of her most remembered events was having the opportunity to deliver a baby! She relocated to Simla, Colorado in 1986 where she was also very involved in the volunteer fire department and served as an EMT. In 1992, she relocated to Fort Smith, Arkansas. She loved the Lord and was involved in church as long as she was able. She loved attending gospel concerts with dear friends and loved watching old western movies and tv shows.
She is survived by her daughters, Jan Skinner and husband Scott of Thornton, Colorado, Shannon Tracy of Van Buren, Arkansas, and Tara Ferrari and husband Johnathan of Kibler, Arkansas; her son, Micah Gregory and wife Janet of Lavaca, Arkansas. In addition, she had (17) grandchildren and (21) great-grandchildren, with two more on the way!
