Obituary

Sue Neissl of Charleston, Arkansas, died Tuesday, May 21, 2024, in Heart of Hospice Unit at Baptist Health Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on August 4, 1926, in Charleston to the late Everett Lee Buckner and Lettie (Patterson) Buckner. She was 97 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Leo Gilsinger; her husband of 59 years, Hans Edward "Tuts" Neissl; two sisters, Mary Ann Thomson and Ethel Colvard; and a brother, Everett Buckner.

For several years, Sue and her husband Tuts were owner and operator of the Ole Snack Shop Restaurant in Charleston. She was a member of the Mother's Society, and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 25th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston, with Father Norman McFall officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by her four daughters, Neta Loughridge and husband Tudy, Jo Ann Woods, Louella Jones and Sarah Fisher and husband Steven, all of Charleston; a sister, Betty Holland of Branch; two brothers, Don Buckner and wife Betty and Nick Gilsinger and wife Linda, all of Charleston; (13) grandchildren; (27) great-grandchildren; and (3) great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Bo Jo Jones, Slade Woods, Justin Todd, Gage Jones, Matthew Koontz, Braxten Martin, and Chad Jones.

Honorary pallbearers are Tudy Loughridge, Steven Fisher, Randy Koontz, Blake Martin, Jeremy McDonald, Ronnie Jones, Randy "Red" Smith, Ryan Lewis, Bruce Pearson, Jason Hallum, Levi Jones, Adam Jones, Doug Barnard, and Kin Woods.

Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 24th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Deacon Mark Verkamp officiating. The family will visit with friends following the rosary service.
