Bertha Sue Hester, who resided in Van Buren, Arkansas, died Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Crawford Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Van Buren. She was born on August 19, 1952, in Wichita, Kansas, to the late Gene Preston and Vesta (Poore) Preston. She was 69 years, 4 months, and 4 days old. She was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Preston, and a sister, Star Scissm.

Sue was a retired truck driver.

She is survived by her children, Louis Hester, Jr. of Alaska, Lucas Hester, Lain Hester and Lindell Hester, all of Tennessee, and Landis Hester of Fort Smith; her siblings, Dale Preston of Fayetteville, Doyle Preston of Oklahoma, Delbert Preston of Madison County, Daniel Preston of Van Buren, Verda Pence of Mountainburg, and Ruby Myers of Bentonville; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
