Steven L Gipson

Steven L. Gipson’s spirit left his earthly body to enter into a higher realm on Friday, April 10, 2026. Steve won the hearts of those in his family of love as well his Wal-Mart family. Steve is preceded by parents, Allen W. Gipson and Edwina H. (Spears) Johnson; fathers-in-law, William Walker “Butch” Dorrough & Steven L.”Cowboy” Crowder; grandmothers, Nellie Spears and Marie “Nanny” (Chappell) Brasher; and grandpa, William Mathaniel “Bill” Brasher.

Steve shared a special bond with our rescue, Rubi. She unexpectedly left us in October 2025. Rubi went before Steven, so she could help him when it was time for his transition.

Steven is survived by his wife of 35 years, Penny M. Dorrough Gipson of Van Buren, Arkansas; mother-in-law, Thelma Dorrough Crowder Brasher (late Steven Crowder); brothers, David Dorrough (late wife Denise) and Todd Dorrough (Doris) of Lavaca, Arkansas; sisters, Sherry Dorrough Richmond (Dave) of Barling, Arkansas, Denise Dorrough Moore (late husband James “Jim”) of Lavaca, Arkansas, and Amber Dorrough Hale (Tyras “Ty”) of Greenwood, Arkansas; and many nieces & nephews; as well as many close friends, including our special friend of many years, Cory L. Tower of Globe, Arizona.

Steve and Penny share a love for animals. To honor Steven's 30 plus years providing and caring for the sick and abandoned, a donation in his name can be made to Almost Home Shelter in VB, any animal rescue or spay & neuter program of your choice. (Please give locally). Steve enjoyed history, working in the yard & bowling.

A celebration of life will be at a later date.
