Steve Wayne Burns, who resided in Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born October 2, 1946, in Gladewater, Texas, to the late Clarence Burns and Eula (Hammer) Burns. He was 71 years old. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rachel; three brothers, Edward, James, and William.

Steve was a retired pastor for Grace Communion International, and he was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church in Van Buren, Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife, Silvia M. (Ferrer) Burns; a son, Ryan Burns of Arlington, Texas; a step-son, Juan Bernal of Midland, Texas; two sisters, Karel Wynn of Gladewater, Texas and Patricia Lohaus of St. Louis, Missouri; a brother, Jerry Burns and wife Maureen of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; three granddaughters, Meaghan Burns, Madeline Burns, and Melanie Burns, all of Grapevine, Texas; one grandson, Micah Burns of Grapevine, Texas.

There are no services scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Cremation Services in Fort Smith.
