Stephen Lee Neal, who resided in the Sugarloaf Community near Hackett, Arkansas, died Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Pink Bud Nursing Center in Greenwood, Arkansas. He was born on December 12, 1953, in Anchorage, Alaska, to the late Ocie Lee Neal and Anita Lucille (Harris) Neal. He was 72 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Michael Neal.
For several years, Stephen was a truck driver and a carpenter. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and loved his family very much. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
A "Family Gathering" will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 18th at Amity Missionary Baptist Church in Hackett.
He is survived by four daughters, Carrie Duboise and husband Chris of Hackett, Melinda Riel and husband Alexander of Heavener, Oklahoma, Anne Neal of Ola, and Amy Neal of Greenwood; two sons, Chris Neal and wife Paige of Greenwood and Kelly Neal and wife Keturah of Huntington; two sisters, Judith McBride of Hackett and Barbara Bates of Fort Smith; a brother, Roger Neal of Fort Smith; (13) grandchildren, with one on the way; and (2) great-grandchildren.
