Stella Marie Wheeler of Branch, Arkansas, passed away Monday, August 16, 2010 in a Fort Smith hospital. She was born September 7, 1944 in Paris to the late Buford McMurtry and Helen (Cross) McMurtry. She was 65 years old.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Wheeler and two sons, Gary Wheeler and Bill Wheeler.

Stella was a homemaker and was of the Assembly of God faith.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 20th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Interment will be at Mayberry Cemetery in Central City, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Wheeler, of the home; five daughters, Bonnie Scoggins & husband Sam of Vian, Oklahoma, Cammie Cummings of Branch, Stacie Sindle of Van Buren, Treva Coffel of Dadeville, Alabama, and Cassie Miranda of Carbon City; four sons, Denny Wheeler of Wichita, Kansas, Shannon Wheeler of Branch, Travis Wheeler of Branch, and Mike Wheeler of Russellville; two sisters, Debra Santistevens of Siloam Springs and Terri Santistevens of Houston, Texas; one brother, Eloy Santistevens of Texas; Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be family members.

Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home.
