Obituary

Stefan Michael Savage of Charleston, Arkansas, died Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at his home after a long four year battle with brain cancer. He was born on January 4, 1990, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Philip Savage and Cindy (Locknar) Savage. He was 32 years old.

Stefan was the most generous, kind, and beautiful soul ever to walk this side of the earth. He would have given the shirt off his back for anyone in need. He was so loved by everyone he worked with at Buckle in his younger days and Sephora in his most recent days. His "guests" loved him as much as his own family. When we think about Stefan all we think about is love. He emitted the word love in every aspect of his being. He was one of those special people who touches your life, and your life is therefore enriched by that encounter. His legacy will live on through those who loved him. Stefan was a 2008 graduate of Charleston High School, a 2012 graduate of UALR, a member of Knights of Columbus, and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston.

Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Friday, December 9th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Deacon Mark Verkamp officiating, followed by visitation with family and friends until 8:30 p.m.

Funeral mass service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 10th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston, with Father Norman McFall officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his parents, Philip and Cindy Savage of Charleston; his sister, Sabrina Toplikar and husband Ben of Caulksville; a niece, Scarlett; his uncles, Mike Locknar and wife Janice of Fort Smith, Richard Savage (Godfather) and wife Cecilia of Branch, and Chris Savage and wife Tammy of Charleston; an aunt, Mary McLeroy of Branch; cousins loved like uncles, Don Bagley and wife Patti (Godmother) of Olathe, Kansas, Steve Bagley and wife Diane of Overland Park, Kansas, and Rick Morrow of Raytown, Missouri; and many first and second cousins and their children.

Pallbearers will be Eric Locknar, Brandon Locknar, Garrett Locknar, Brennon Felterman, Matt Churchman, Andrew Collier, Seth Christenberry, and Ethan Neissl.
