Shonda L. (Brown) Smith who resided in Caulksville, Arkansas, passed away Monday, June 13, 2011 in a Fort Smith hospital due to injuries from an automobile accident in Logan County. She was born May 18, 1974 in Fort Smith to Jerry Brown and Gaylya (Birch) Brown. She was 37 years old.

She was also preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Lee Brown and maternal grandparents, Gene and Joyce Birch.

Shonda was the Postmaster at the U.S. Post Office in Magazine. She was a 1992 graduate of County Line High School, was on the 1991 State Championship Girls Basketball team at County Line, and was a member of the Caulksville Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16th at the Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Bill Van Meter officiating. Burial will be at Caulksville Cemetery in Caulksville, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

She is survived by her husband, Jason Smith of the home; one son, Joshua Lee Smith of the home; one daughter, Jayleigh Smith of the home; her father and mother, Jerry and Gaylya Brown of Ratcliff; two brothers, Dustin Brown and wife Donna of Paris and Casey Brown and wife Whitney of San Antonio, Texas; her paternal grandmother, Norma Brown of Caulksville; her father-in-law, Phil Smith and wife Terry of Pocola, Oklahoma and mother-in-law, Becky Walters of Arora, Colorado; step mother-in-law, Brenda Jones of Alma and grandmother-in-law, Edna Smith.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Casalman, Paul Peck, Greg Sanders, Keith Miller, Chris Brown, Kelly Birch, Tommy Watson, and Steve Pfeiffer.

Honorary Pallbearers will be friends from the U.S. Postal Service.

Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night at the funeral home.
