Obituary

Shirley Ann Mantooth, who resided near Paris, Arkansas, died Saturday, September 14, 2024, at her home. She was born on April 18, 1940, in Barling, Arkansas, to the late M.T. Hunter and Leona Mae (Roden) Hunter. She was 84 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Mantooth; three sisters, Mary Martin, Emma Eiland and Alice Harris; and three brothers, George Hunter, Orville Hunter and Bernest Hunter.

For several years, Shirley had a dairy farm, located south of Ratcliff on Hwy. 23 and raised beef cattle. She also worked many years as a store clerk at convenience stores in the area. She loved her family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Shirley will be cremated and her urn will be placed next to her husband Carl at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston. There will not be a service.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Clark and husband Danny, Sr. of Paris; a son, Victor Stewart and wife Kay of Ratcliff; a brother, Joe Hunter and wife Nola of Lavaca; four grandchildren, Amanda Clark, Danny Clark, Jr., Stacey Stewart, and Derek Stewart and wife Whitley; two great-grandchildren, Haylee Clark and Kiera Clark, with one more on the way.

The Shirley Mantooth family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Mercy Hospice for the love and care given to Shirley during these last days.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
