Sharon Kay "Sherry" Trotter, who resided in Lavaca, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born October 20, 1943, in the Arbuckle Island Community in Sebastian County, Arkansas to the late Fred Martin and Rebecca (Hobbs) Martin. She was 72 years old. She was also preceded in death by one son, Dane Allen Trotter; two sisters and one brother.
Sherry was a hairdresser for 50 years, and she was owner & operator of Sherry's House of Beauty in Lavaca. She was a 1961 graduate of Lavaca High School, and she was member of Lavaca First Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 3rd, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Pastor Eddie Davis and Pastor Grant Trotter officiating. Burial will be at Island Cemetery, located east of Lavaca, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, J.C. Trotter; one son, Vince Trotter and wife Stephanie of Lavaca; one sister, Jymmye Bercher of Fort Smith; one granddaughter, Brittany Bennett and husband Zach of Greenwood; three grandsons, Grant Trotter and wife Hannah, Brooks and Reece Trotter; five great-grandchildren; and Wayne Martin, whom she considered him a brother.
Pallbearers will be Brooks, Grant, and Reece Trotter, Wayne Martin, Jr., Justin Martin, Danny McBride, Jr., Mike Ray, and Kenneth Brown, Jr.
Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night at the funeral home.
