Shelby Allen Coleman, who resided in Albion, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born March 6, 1942, in Jonesville, Louisiana, to the late Ralph Benjamin Coleman and Lillie Elouise (Gurie) Coleman. He was 77 years old. He was preceded in death also by his wife, Shirley; three sisters, Mozelle, Patsy, and Delphia; two brothers, Arthur and Edgar; one granddaughter, Melodee Coleman.
Shelby was a heavy equipment operator and a truck driver. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and he was of the Baptist faith.
Graveside services, with military honors, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 16th, at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by a daughter, Julie Jones and husband Tony of Hot Springs, Arkansas; three sons, Greg Coleman of Conroe, Texas, Denny Coleman of Albion, Oklahoma, and Michael Coleman and wife Jessica of Splendora, Texas; his twin sister, Shirley Coleman of Jonesville, Louisana; one brother, Billy Joe Coleman of Arkansas; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Judy Coleman of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
The family will visit with friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Charleston.
