Shela Ray Flaherty, who resided near Scranton, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016, in Ozark, Arkansas. She was born March 8, 1961, in Bakersfield, California to the late Bobby Ray Uptigrove and Ila Jean (Stovall) Uptigrove. She was 55 years old. She was also preceded in death by one brother, James Roy Uptigrove.
Shela was a graduate of Scranton High School. In her child-hood years, Shela loved riding bulls and she enjoyed going to the rodeos. Shela became disabled and she was a Christian.
Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 12th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, with the Rev. Herb Tiley officiating. Her body will be cremated following the service. All arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
She is survived by her daughter, Porscha Flaherty of Paris; her son, Tommy Flaherty of Scranton; three sisters, Bobbie Jean Thompson of Scranton, JoAnn Clark and husband Bobby of Clarksville, and Mary Bowden of Scranton; two brothers, Billy Joe Uptigrove and wife Tammy of Springfield, Arkansas and John Uptigrove and wife Sara of Dover; one grandson, Bentley Parker Flaherty and one granddaughter, Riley Paige Miller.
Pallbearers will be James Thompson, Zachary Ward, Hiley Carpenter, Blake Russell, Trevor Essman, and Bobby Clark.
Family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home.
