Obituary

Sheila Diane Deaton of Lavaca, Arkansas, died Friday, January 24, 2025, at her home. She was born on December 15, 1956, in Corning, Arkansas, to the late Wilborn Lee Wilson and Shelby Jean (Knox) Wilson. She was 68 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Heath Weaver and Derek Weaver; and a brother, Gary Wilson.

Sheila was a 1975 graduate of Lavaca High School. For several years, Sheila worked at Riverside Furniture in Fort Smith and retired from Planters Peanuts in Fort Smith. She was a member of Potts Freewill Baptist Church.

A family held memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 1st at Potts Freewill Baptist Church, located south of Charleston. Officiating the service will be Bro. Landen Scoggins.

She is survived by a son, Kenny Weaver and wife Christy of Booneville; a sister, LeJuan Wilson of Mulberry; two brothers, Bill Wilson and wife Ramona of Central City and Ricky Wilson and wife Sandi of Lavaca; three grandchildren, Cecilie Richardson and husband Don, Caitlynn Slayton and husband Hayden, and Ciera Perry; eight great-grandchildren; and her roommate, Louise Pierce.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Potts Freewill Baptist Church or to your local Humane Society.
