Obituary

Russell Harrison Miller, who resided in Ratcliff, Arkansas, died Monday, August 23, 2021, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born April 12, 1926, in Eureka, California, to the late Ralph Edward and Mildred (Lewis) Miller. He was 95 years, 4 months, and 21 days old. He was preceded in death by eleven siblings.

Russell worked as a millworker in the lumber mill, served in the U.S. Army during WWII, was co-owner of Miller's Market in Fieldslanding, California for 21 years and was a member of Harmony Assembly of God Church in the Greasy Valley community near Paris. Before becoming a millworker, Russell was a tree faller in the California Redwood Forest in Humboldt County. He married Elizabeth Ann Kinney on March 30, 1953. He will always be remembered as a hard worker who loved his family very much.

Graveside service, with military honors, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 30th at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, with the Rev. Tammy Frederick officiating. Services are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

He is survived by his children, Steven Miller of Oregon, Bryan Miller and wife Janet of Booneville, Deborah Waggoner and husband Bruce of Ratcliff, and Sarah Jean Miller of Ferndale, California; the mother of his children, Elizabeth Ann (Kinney) Miller of Eureka, California; one brother, Eldon Miller of Arcata, California; and three grandchildren, Craig Miller, Robert Jones, and Sarah Nicole Hunter and husband Jim; two great-grandsons; three step-grandchildren, Edward Waggoner, Jennifer Georgianna and Janet Webb; six step-great-grandchildren and three step-great-great-grandchildren.

Public viewing will be Sunday, August 29th from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
