Obituary

Royce (Gene) Davidson of Charleston, Arkansas, went to be his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the age of 80. He and his twin brother, Boyce Dean Davidson were born on Christmas Day, 1942, in Morrilton, Arkansas, to the late John Allen and Bertha (Engle) Davidson. He was of the Christian faith. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; a brother, George Davidson; and his twin brother, Boyce Dean Davidson.

Gene loved listening to gospel music, reading Christian books, watching St. Louis Cardinals and Razorback sports, and talking to anyone who would listen. He had a soft spot in his heart for all of God's creatures. He loved his five rescued dogs, Izzi and Pippi, who were always by his side or on his lap, and his three big outside dogs, Spot, Brat, and Earl.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 15th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Bill VanMeter officiating. A private burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife, Rose (Miesner) Davidson of 57 years; two daughters, Gina Denise Beard and husband Morris of Stuttgart, Germany, and Ginger Keller and husband Randy of Redondo Beach, California; and two grandchildren, Sophia Beard of Berlin, Germany, and Matthew Keller of Redondo Beach, California.

Pallbearers will be Jim Miesner, Tony Miesner, David Miesner, Carl Miesner, Mike Law, and Randy Keller.

Honorary pallbearers are Morris Beard and Gwen Ewing.

Public viewing will begin Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
