Obituary

Roy Gene Woods, who resided in Bloomer, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 in Fort Smith. He was born June 16, 1940 in Bloomer to the late J.K. Woods and Doris Marie (Bowen) Woods. He was 72 years old. He was also preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Woods and two brothers, Larry Woods and Carl Woods.

Roy was a retired engineer. He served in the U.S. National Guard and was of the Free Will Baptist faith.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2nd at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Burial will be at Center Valley Cemetery in Bloomer on Fort Chaffee, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Doe of the home; four daughters, Stella Priddy of Little Rock, Celeste Davis of Pottsville, Regina Cowell of Clarksville, and Angela Leisen of Bloomer; one son, David Woods of Atlanta, Georgia; four sisters, Micki Holloway of Van Buren, Brenda O'Brien of Atlanta, Georgia, Debbie Boblett of Little Rock, and Janice Woods of Roland, Oklahoma; two brothers, Rocky Woods of Roland, Oklahoma and Herschel Paul of Little Rock; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his best friend and closer than a brother, Ronnie "Hutch" Hutchins of Bloomer.

Pallbearers will be Bill Leisen, Jonathan Davis, Steve Cowell, Camron Cowell, Dillon Cowell, Christopher Willis, and Ty Willis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Hutchins, Ed Storey, and Kin Woods.

Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
