Roy Leonard Rowe, Sr. who resided near Paris, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 at his home. He was born November 9, 1932 in Manhattan, Kansas to the late Herman Vandecar Rowe and Lavawn Lillian (Beck) Rowe. He was 82 years old.
Roy retired from Fort Smith Table & Furniture Company and worked for Flanders Industries in Fort Smith and he was a machinist. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and was awarded the Korean Service Medal (3 Stars), United Nations Service Medal, China Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
Graveside services (with military honors) will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 2nd, at Caulksville Cemetery in Caulksville, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Paris. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Jim Pat Mills.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Frances (Mayo) Rowe; one daughter, Melissa Wilkinson and husband Frank of Paris; one son, Roy L. Rowe, Jr. and wife Debbie of Paris; two sisters, Janetta Stanford of Sacramento, California and Judy Berry of Ozark; one brother, Richard Rowe of Paris; two grandchildren, Justin Rowe and Jeremy Rowe and two great-grandchildren, Ember and Porter Rowe.
Family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday night at the funeral home in Paris.
