Obituary

Roy Travis Douglas, who resided at Ville Platte, Louisiana, formerly of Charleston, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte. He was born September 4, 1939 in Charleston to the late Fay Douglas and Retha (Knight) Douglas. He was 72 years old.

He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Kenneith Ray Douglas.

Roy was a retired attorney. He was a member of the Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas Bars, was a 32nd Degree Mason, and member of the First Baptist Church in Ville Platte.

A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 16th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Dr. Kent Sweatman officiating. Burial of cremains will be at Nixon Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife, Maureen (Sylvester) Douglas of the home; two daughters, Diann Douglas of Juneau, Alaska and Donna Fascio and husband Robbie of Little Rock; one brother, Troy Douglas and wife Carolyn of Fort Smith; three grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, and Victoria Fascio.

Family will visit with friends following the memorial service.
