Robert Buster Vowell, who resided in Bloomer, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in his home. He was born May 6, 1927 in Louisville, Mississippi to the late William Henry Vowell and Donnie Lee Thrasher Vowell. He was 87 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Lorene Faires Vowell.
Bob was owner and operator of Bob & Wanda's Café in Barling, Arkansas. He was a retired Air Force veteran, and he was a Mason. He was of the Protestant faith.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2015 at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Robert Vowell officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m., "With Full Military Honors" at U. S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by two daughters, Karen Kubatzke of Barling and Cheryl Stem and husband Loyd of Bloomer; four sons, Robert Vowell and wife Karen of Lowell, Arkansas, Darrell Vowell of Bloomer, David Vowell and wife Traci of Greendale, Indiana and William Vowell and wife Pam of Springfield, Missouri; one brother, Earl Pete Vowell of Little Rock, Arkansas; 17 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Vowell, Les Stem, Nathaniel Johnson, Mathew Johnson, Morgan Johnson, Noah Johnson, Mark Watson, Luke Watson, Josh Vowell and Andrew Chronister.
Family will visit with friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home in Charleston.
