Obituary

Robert Lee Taylor, who resided in Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at his home. He was born November 29, 1942 in Lavaca, Arkansas to Paul Herschel Taylor and Margaret Ellen (Pugh) Taylor. He was 70 years old.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Taylor.

Robert worked for Ward's Ice Cream and Rheem Manufacturing, Inc. in Fort Smith, and was a member of Lavaca First Baptist Church.

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 7th, at Lavaca First Baptist Church, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

He is survived by his companion of 39 years, Charlette (Whitfield) McKinney; two daughters, Diana Hutchins and husband Ronnie of Lavaca and Melissa McGee of Lavaca; one son, Brian Taylor of Muskogee, Oklahoma; his father, Paul Taylor of Lavaca; one sister, Barbara Cheek and husband Dan of McLoud, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by Charlette's children, Charles McKinney, Larry McKinney and wife Tasha, and Shabazz Simpson and wife Tik, all of Fort Smith; and six grandchildren.

Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home in Charleston.
