Robert Eugene Payne, who resided near Ratcliff, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at his home. He was born July 10, 1934 in Sparta, Illinois to the late Albert Gordon Payne and Lizzie Ann (Thompson) Payne. He was 77 years old.

He was also preceded in death by two son's, Martin Wade Payne and Arthur Gordon Payne.

Robert was retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a supervisor for many years at the Altus Air Force Base golf course.

Memorial graveside service (With Full Military Honors) will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 29th, at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

He is survived by two daughters, Gail Halbrook of Texas and Patricia Overton of Oklahoma; one sister, Gladys Pridgin of Ratcliff; one brother, Albert Payne of Ratcliff, and two grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.
