Obituary

Robert Hill Patty, 75, of Subiaco died Saturday, April 26, 2008, in his home. He was born the oldest of nine sons on Dec. 2, 1932, in Blocker, Okla., to the late Daniel Hill Patty and Hazel Faye Ledford Patty. While living in California he worked at A.C. Tony Poettgen and Son of Wasco, Calif., and Barker Brothers in Wasco. He was also irrigation supervisor for a large farming operation. Wasco is the home of Jackson-Perkins Rose Co., where roses are developed and grown. Robert pulled the very first float in the Rose Festival Parade in Wasco. He worked at Russellville Steel in Russellville for a number of years before retirement. He treasured his family and friends and his black Dodge pickup and loved rodeos, the Cubs and Cardinals. He attended the St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and J.B. Patty.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008, at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco with burial at St. Scholastica Cemetery near New Blaine under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home of Paris.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Koch Patty; two daughters, Diana Rice of Wasco, Calif., and Alane Lee and husband Lester of Shafter, Calif.; two sons, Robert Wayne Patty of Oildale, Calif., and Ronald Patty and wife Theresa of Rosedale, Calif.; three stepdaughters, Virginia Carr of Russellville, Michelle Rogers of Subiaco and Lisa Etzkorn and husband Pat of Subiaco; three stepsons, Larry Joe Lux and wife Tammie of Ratcliff, Bobby Lux and wife Wendy of Charleston, and Stephen Lux and wife Trish of Mulberry; six brothers, Dan Patty Jr. and wife Louise of Glenpool, Okla., Charley Patty and wife Cyndy of Kellyville, Okla., Kenneth Patty and wife Margaret of Cassville, Mo., Jim Patty of Bakersfield, Calif., Harold Dean Patty and wife Cindy of Scott City, Kan., and Carl Ray Patty of Wasco, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Wanda Patty and Jeannie Patty of Bakersfield Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren; 14 stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 19 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons: Scott Needham, Matt Waxenfelter, Donald Hart, Robert Lux, Stephen Alan Lux, Andrew Walker, Taylor Lux.

Honorary pallbearers: Gus Frederick, Louis Frederick and Walter Friemel. Accolytes will be great-grandsons, Gerhard Lee, Cody Nehus and Kalob Helms.

The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Paris.
