Obituary

Richard Russell Organ, who resided in Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014 at his home. He was born August 27, 1942 in Crawford County, Arkansas. He was 71 years old. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, James Organ and Violet (Crabtree) Organ; one son, Richard Brent Organ, and his sister, Sheila Berlau.

Richard was an independent insurance agent and owner and operator of Organ Enterprises Inc. in Fort Smith. He was a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA),The Life Underwriter Training Council and The National Association of Life Underwriters, Regional Life Council 1994, Chairman's Challenge Honor Roll, and was with Nationwide Insurance Company for a little over 27 years. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Fort Smith, and attended First Baptist Church in Lavaca.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 13th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife Gail (Stout) Organ; two daughters, Tanja Knight of Jonesboro and Audra Estep and husband Brian of Las Vegas, Nevada; one son, Russell Berryhill and wife Rachel of Little Rock; one step-daughter, Felicia Owen and husband Tim of Lavaca; one step-son, Tommy Brown and wife Shannon of Greenbrier; eleven grandchildren, Audra, Michaela, Hannah, Stuart, David, Catherine, Callie, Mollie, Morgan, Samantha, and Sydnie; three step-grandchildren, Dylan, Julia, and Noah; three great-grandchildren, Tucker, Rilyn, and Carolina Paige; his niece and nephew, Meagan and Logan Berlau.

Pallbearers will be Terry Childers, Jared Fowler, Larry Greenwood, Bill Brown, Richard Frazier, and Jack Evans.

Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home.
