Obituary

Walter Richard Hester, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018, at his home. He was born August 5, 1947, in Warren, Arkansas, to the late Hershel and Nina (Squires) Hester. He was 71 years old.

Richard was a Retired Corporal for the Arkansas State Police Department and a member of the Army Reserve. He married Rhondah Gack on July 7, 2001.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Charleston, a 32 nd Degree Mason in Huntsville, a member of the Scottish Rite, a board member for Little Creek Country Club, a substitute teacher and golf coach. He loved traveling, golfing and fishing.

Cremation is under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Rhondah of the home; two daughters, Tabitha Hester of Charleston and Kristy Gregory of Alma; two sons, Max Hester of Paris and Evan Eiland of Fort Smith and four grandchildren, Whitley Connelly, Colin Gregory, Rebel Ervin and Radley Ervin.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday night, January 4th at the funeral home.  Rev. Bill Van Meter will conduct a short Memorial Service.
