Obituary

Richard Ray Dixon, who resided near Branch, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014 in Charleston. He was born October 15, 1927 in New Blaine, Arkansas to the late George Dixon and Carrie (Farnam) Dixon. He was 86 years old. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Pauline (Price) Dixon.

Richard was a retired electrician at Whirlpool, Inc. in Fort Smith. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, a cattle farmer, and an avid gardener.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 4th, at Kersey Cemetery, located northeast of Branch, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

Officiating the service will be Mr. Gary Stubblefield.

He is survived by his daughter, Lora Bottoms and husband Randy of Van Buren; two sons, Roger Dixon and wife Pamela of Branch and Larry Dixon and wife Judy of Lavaca; two brothers, George Dixon of Norman, Oklahoma and Roy Dixon of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Marsha Scott, Jason Walter, Ashley Corbin, and John Westin Corbin; eight great-grandchildren.

Family will visit with friends 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
