Rhonda Kay Bruso, who resided in Lavaca, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022, at her home. She was born on December 30, 1959, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to the late Roy Gene Green and Delores Donnelle (Spencer) Green. She was 62 years old.

Rhonda was a retired English and Journalism teacher. She started her career at County Line High School. She taught 18 years at Greenwood High School and finished her long teaching career at Lavaca Public Schools. Rhonda also worked for Bost, Inc. in Fort Smith, was a 1978 graduate of Lavaca High School, and was a member of Lavaca First Baptist Church. Rhonda loved her family very much and was a devoted caretaker for her sister, Donna Jean. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 25th at First Baptist Church in Lavaca, with Pastor Steven Smithson and Bro. Danny Green officiating. Burial will follow at Lavaca City Cemetery in Lavaca, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by her son, Kyle Bruso and wife Megan of Charleston; two sisters, Darla Heckman and husband Jeff of Lavaca and Donna Jean Green of Lavaca; one grandson, Brex Bruso; her nephew, Dakota Hayes of Greenwood; and a great-niece, Jaylynn Hayes.

Pallbearers are Cody Wilson, Matthew Caples, Sean Lane, David Hayes, Brandon Green, and Levi Green.

Honorary pallbearers are Dakota Hayes, Jeff Heckman, Darron Johnson, Perry Granger, and Tucker Marshal.

The family will visit with friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 24th at the funeral home in Charleston.
