Loyd Leon "Red" Combs of Caulksville, Arkansas, died Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on January 19, 1936, in Ratcliff, Arkansas, to the late James Paul Combs and Lois Marie (Hill) Combs. He was 87 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Leigh Ann Combs and Jo Beth Combs; and two brothers, Don Combs and Bud Combs.

Red was a 1953 graduate of County Line High School. He was a self-employed house mover in Caulksville and served in the Arkansas National Guard.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 8th at Caulksville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, officiated by Rev. Bill VanMeter. Burial will follow at Caulksville Cemetery in Caulksville, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Martinez and husband Paul of North Richland Hills, Texas; a sister, Ann Chastain and husband Bob of Caulksville; one grandson, Taylor Hunt and wife Brandi of North Richland Hills, Texas; and one great-granddaughter, Sadie Hunt.

Pallbearers are Bud Turk, Larry Lux, James Combs, Alan Bennett, Alan Powell, and Kevin Strobel.

The family will visit with friends at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
