Rebecca Diane Paxton

Rebecca Diane Paxton of Ozark, Arkansas, died Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on July 12, 1956, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to the late Charles Junior Smith and Ellen Hildreth (Satrang) Smith. She was 70 years old.

Rebecca was a retired certified rehabilitation registered nurse (CRRN) and worked at all the area medical facilities in Fort Smith and the River Valley. She was loved by her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Rick Paxton; two sons, Jason Miller of Mulberry and Chad Miller and wife Erin of Odessa, Texas; a step-daughter, Misty Moore and husband Billy of Arkoma, Oklahoma; a step-son, Kris Paxton and wife Kara of Fayetteville; three sisters, Pat Waters, Barbara Warden and husband Kenneth, and Lisa Rogers and husband Johnny, all of Ozark; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
