Reba Ray Hammond, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born April 10, 1923 in Lavaca, Arkansas to the late William Presley Meadows and Willie Lee (Rankin) Meadows. She was 91 years old. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Dale, Joe, and Gene Meadows.
Reba was a homemaker and was a member of First Baptist Church in Charleston.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 27th, at First Baptist Church in Charleston, with the Rev. Mike Love officiating. Burial will be at Coles Chapel Cemetery, located south of Branch, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Rippy and husband Ron of Ozark and Sheila Carson and husband Gene of Branch; one son, Roger Hammond and wife Jan of Branch; seven grandchildren, Casey Hammond, Jared Hammond, Allyson Campbell, Mark Rippy, Timothy Rippy, Jamie Carson, and Jenson Carson; one step-grandson, Christopher Carson; nine great-grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Mark Rippy, Timothy Rippy, Jared Hammond, Jamie Carson, Jenson Carson, Christopher Carson, and David Campbell.
Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home.
